Inspiration behind Opening/Thoughts about choice

There were many different things that inspired us to choose to film the opening the way that we did. We decided as a group that the easiest genre to choose would be horror. We watched several Youtube videos to give us an idea on the typical conventions of horror and we found that we needed to have quite dull colours and sounds/background music that was effective to what was happening. For example the opening of the film scream, uses dark lighting to give the impression of bad events to happen later on in the film. Also we found that lots of the horror openings used pathetic fallacy so the audience would get an impression of what would happen in the rest of the film. We did mind maps and lists of ideas we all had after watching the openings so we could put them all together and come to a final conclusion.
